“We’re not canceling a show. We’ve never done it before. We try to never ever do it.”

That’s what TJ Osborne said live on the rooftop of the Brothers Osborne tour bus on Saturday (Dec. 10) outside Hanford Fox Theatre in Hanford, California.

A few hours before the duo was scheduled to perform inside, a portion of the ceiling collapsed onstage. According to Fresno’s KFSN-TV, the theatre's owner Danny Humason canceled the show as a precaution and tried to find an alternative venue to accommodate the band and their fans, but none were available.

Instead of moving on to the next gig, Brothers Osborne decided to take the Dirt Rich Tour outside -- in the rain -- and performed a stripped down acoustic set on the roof of their tour bus.

Backlit by the neon glow of the marquee lights, the TJ and John lit into a 30-minute set that included “Greener Pastures,” “Rum,” “21 Summer,” “Stay a Little Longer,” Hank Williams’ “Hey Good Lookin’” and their next single “It Ain’t My Fault” with Lucie Silvas.

“I’m just waiting to find out when our bus company finds out we did this,” TJ said. “They’re going to be like, ‘That was $10,000.’ You know what, I don’t even care.”

This is the second incident where parts of a theatre ceiling crumbled and fell on the Dirt Rich Tour. On Nov. 27 at the Egyptian Theatre in Boise, Idaho, TJ and John were in the middle of “Stay a Little Longer” when parts of the ceiling fell on their set.

The Grammy-nominated duo is up for best country duo/group performance for “21 Summer.” They will play Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace on Tuesday (Dec. 13). Their final show of the year is Saturday (Dec. 17) at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.
