Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are headed back to CMT.
CMT revealed plans Thursday for “CMT Crossroads: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss” to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
“CMT Crossroads: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss” will premiere with a 90-minute episode on Tuesday, November 29th at 9p/8c on CMT.
Encores are scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th at 10:30p/9:30c and Sunday, December 4th at 11a/10c.
“Since its debut in 2002, ‘CMT Crossroads’ has been instrumental in breaking down perceived barriers between genres and carving out a place in television history,” said Margaret Comeaux, SVP, Production, Music & Events, CMT. “What better way to celebrate 20 years of incredible musical pairings than to reunite the beloved duo of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss as we reflect upon and celebrate the magic of 70+ episodes of this trailblazing series.”
Plant and Krauss first filmed an episode of “CMT Crossroads” in 2008 after releasing their six-time GRAMMY award-winning album “Raising Sand.”
Fourteen years later, they are on a world tour and nabbed three 2023 GRAMMY Award nominations for their latest project, “Raise The Roof,” this week. The nominations include Best Americana Album, Best American Roots Song (“High And Lonesome,” written by Robert Plant & T Bone Burnett), and Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“Going Where The Lonely Go”).
Songs featured in the anniversary episode include “High And Lonesome,” “Can’t Let Go,” and “Gone Gone Gone,” as well as Led Zeppelin’s “Rock And Roll” and “When the Levee Breaks.”
“CMT Crossroads: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss” is executive produced by CMT’s Margaret Comeaux and Michael McNamara. The Executives in Charge of Production are Jackie Barba and Heather D. Graffagnino. Leslie Fram is Executive in Charge of Talent; Shanna Strassberg is Talent Producer.
