Lady Antebellum stepped out in style Thursday night (Oct. 9) at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for the Nashville premiere of The Best of Me, a new film based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks.
Lady A's Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood co-wrote two songs for the soundtrack -- their first venture into writing music for film.
In fact, the entire soundtrack to the movie is chock-full of great country music from Thomas Rhett , Hunter Hayes, Thompson Square, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Eric Paslay, David Nail and the Eli Young Band, to name a few.
Rhett, along with Lauren Alaina , pop songstress Colbie Caillat (also on the soundtrack), Kelleigh Bannen and Sunny Sweeney attended the Nashville premiere, as well, and all looked mighty fine on the carpet.
Rhett was the first to admit he's a fan of Sparks' book and was thrilled to be a part of the soundtrack.
"I'm not gonna deny, I'm a sucker for a good love story ... and if anybody is a love story professional, it's Nicholas Sparks," Rhett said. "I read this book. I was stranded at the airport one time. So it's cool to have my first song in a movie that means something to me."
I'm certain I saw Rhett's beautiful wife in the room at some point, too, and why not? Talk about the ultimate date night, which is exactly what Lady A's Charles Kelley was also thinking.
"Dave and I are getting a lot of brownie points tonight," Kelley joked. "Having our song in the movie, I'll be able to look over at my wife and go, 'Oh, yeah, that's me, baby.' So she's already ready for romance."
In fact, all of the Lady A members were taking the evening to spend with their loved ones. New dad Haywood brought along his wife Kelli for their first night out since welcoming baby boy Cash just four weeks ago.
"This is our first real kind of out for the whole night date night," Haywood said. "This is the first moment for us to really get away, have a babysitter, do the whole nine yards. It's amazing. I mean, no sleep, no schedule. We have no idea what we're doing, but we're having an absolute blast doing it."
It really doesn't get much better than taking your significant other to a private premiere of a Nicholas Sparks film with Sparks himself in attendance.
And the author was thrilled to be there to share the evening with the artists who brought such memorable music to The Best of Me.
"I'm a massive fan of Lady Antebellum, so their name was brought up before any of the cast -- before we even had a director -- simply because I was a fan. And I said, 'Wouldn't it be great if we could ever do something with them?'"
Starring Michelle Monaghan, James Marsden, Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato, the film is set to be released nationally on Oct. 17. The soundtrack album was released Tuesday by Capitol Nashville.
