Country Breakout Star Ashley Cooke Reflects On Her Achievements In Track "It's Been A Year"

Ashley Cooke: "I wouldn't trade a single minute of the last 365 days. Thank you all for being on this journey with me, and cheers to many more."

2022 has become the year that changed Ashley Cooke's future in country music.

The Florida native moved to Nashville when she was just a teenager to pursue a professional career in music, but within the last 12 months Cooke received the recognition she's been longing for.

The songstress turned to social media Monday (December 7) evening to share a new track titled "It's Been A Year." Within the sentimental ballad, Cooke reflects on her achievements thus far that she officially checked off her lengthy bucket list.

Cooke filmed herself mouthing the poignant lyrics that touch upon her undeniable drive and her new reality. The promising artist penned the reflective track alongside esteemed songwriters Brett Tyler and Will Weatherly.

"It's been three hundred sixty-five of record lows and record highs | Loving and losing | Fun and confusing | Praying and shifting gears | For the minute you got, it's probably a lot | More than you wanna hear | So, all I'll say is, 'It's been a year,'" sing Cooke.

The way the gentle guitar melody flawlessly complements Cooke's soulful sound, proves why once-in-a-lifetime opportunities are knocking on her door more than ever before. "It's been a year" follows her double release of "Running Back" and "Dirt On 'Em."

"This year has been nothing short of a whirlwind. I inked my first deals, played bucket list stages, went on four major tours and a country-wide radio tour, met thousands of new people and even a few of my heroes, fell in and out of love, and spent more nights sleeping on a van bench than in my bed," shared Cooke in a statement. "It held some good, some bad, and some of the greatest moments of my life so far - and I wouldn't trade a single minute of the last 365 days. Thank you all for being on this journey with me, and cheers to many more."

"It's Been A Year" has already gone viral on TikTk alone. The short clip garnered 178.4K views and 29.9K likes. Her devoted online fan base flocked to the comments to praise the relatable and humble track that solidified her social recognition.

"Gosh, I sure love ALL your music! Keep it coming❤️," said a follower. "Speaking straight to my soul! Thank you for this," added another. "This is incredible," said fast-rising artist Jordana Bryant.

After a year of touring with hitmakers Cole Swindell and Jordan Davis, Cooke is expected to keep up the positive momentum. The TikTok sensation turned country mainstay will start 2023 strong by jet-setting across the pound to perform at the Country 2 Country festival in London on March 10 and Glasgow on March 11.

In the spring, the "Never Til Now" singer will embark on a tour with duet partner Brett Young for his headlining 16-date trek. For upcoming appearances and tickets, visit ashleycooke.com.
