Lainey Wilson Reveals Old Photos With Luke Combs: "We've Come A Long Way"

Lainey Wilson teases new song "Live Off" from her forthcoming album "Bell Bottom Country," which is due to drop on October 28.

Long before Luke Combs became a country phenomenon and Lainey Wilson was an award-winning vocalist, they were aspiring musicians tirelessly trying to break into the industry.

The "Things A Man Oughta Know" singer turned to social media over the weekend (Sept. 16) to wish her long-time friend luck on his Middle of Somewhere Tour. The sweet message was paired with numerous throwback photos and a dated video from a studio session.

The short clip captures the two joining forces on a powerful track. Combs pulled at his acoustic guitar strings, as Wilson held tight to sheet music. The hitmakers intertwined their robust vocals, which displayed their superstar potential. Although the song is not recognizable, it sonically shines a light on Wilson's signature twang and Combs' platinum-selling grit.

"Didn't know it then, but I sure do now| That's the day that changed our lives | Saving you save me," they belted with confidence.

The additional snapshots feature Wilson and Combs posing for a selfie at a restaurant and during a writer's round.

"Damn we've come a long way @lukecombs…time has done us well," he wrote alongside the Instagram carousel. "Congrats on kickin off your tour tonight! Can't wait to meet ya out here in less than a month and join for the stadium world tour in the spring and summer. Y'all grab your tickets!"

Notable names in the industry pointed out their success thus far and reflected on their growth as musicians.

"Full circle! Proud of y'all!" said frequent collaborator James McNair. "I remember those kids!!" recalled Faren Rachels. "Tow hard ass working people right there y'all!!" added Channing Wilson.

The singer-songwriter told "Entertainment Tonight" that Combs would knock on her trailer door to collaborate back in the day.

"I've known Luke for, oh my gosh, I met him in 2014," she explained. "He used to come over to my camper and write songs with me," she added.

Wilson is slated to embark on Combs' nationwide run on Oct. 17 alongside breakout star Morgan Wade and Jordan Davis. In late March of 2023, Wilson will join the "Doin' This" crooner on his world tour with Riley Green, Flatland Cavalry, and Brent Cobb.

The fast-rising star is expected to pull from her impressive catalog while out on the road and her highly anticipated record, "Bell Bottom Country." The 15-song collection will drop on Oct. 28 and will include the recently released hit "Watermelon Moonshine." Wilson previously (Sept. 17) teased  mid-tempo track "Live Off," a tribute to everything that makes her "world go 'round."

"I live off crumpled dollars from an old pickle jar | I live off what I'm growing in the back of the yard | Folgers hot in the morning | Sun shining on my double wide | I live off hours seven hours with a dog in the bed | I live off of them letters written in crimson red| Sunday talks with my mama | Porch picking and my chicken fried," she sings.

Wilson penned "Live Off" with Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson, and Adam Doleac. Until fans receive the new material – they can listen to her current radio single, "Heart Like a Truck" from her forthcoming album. On the heels of the launch, Wilson will make her acting debut in "Yellowstone" on November 13. For upcoming appearances and tickets, visit laineywilson.com.
