Thomas Rhett reflects on being a father and what he has learned throughout the years.

"The longer I've gone as a dad, it's like each child really does need that one-on-one time – in the same way that Lauren and I just need time."

The Akins household was far from quiet this week, as they were celebrating a massive birthday.

Country music sensation Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins held a family party for their youngest, Lillie Carolina's first birthday. The mother of four turned to social media late Tuesday (Nov. 15) to share a glimpse into their fun-filled evening.

The precious snapshot featured the hitmaker and his daughters swimming in a hot tub at their Nashville home. With Christmas lights already hung up, Rhett smiled for the camera while holding Lillie in his arms and Lennon Love [2] on his back. As Willa Gray [7] hugged her father,  Ada James [5] posed nearby, holding up peace signs.

"Family hot tub party for Lillie's birthday 🎈💕," wrote Akins in the caption.

Country music fans flocked to the comments to wish the tiny tot a happy and healthy birthday.

"Beautiful family! Happy Birthday sweet girl," said a follower. "The absolute cutest. Happy first birthday, little Lillie❤️," added another.

Before Rhett threw on his swim trunks, he shared a sweet birthday tribute reflecting on the memorable year. The picture displayed his bundle of joy rocking strawberry-shaped glasses and footie pajamas.

"Lillie bug.. how are you one already? It seems like yesterday," Rhett reflected. "For real. I love you so much. Every time I look at you you are smiling! Don't ever lose that! Happy birthday to you, little baby," he added.

The relaxing night in comes on the heels of a chaotic week. The platinum-selling artist recently shared that he fell ill with a stomach virus and his wife had to step in to save the day. Rhett explained that Akins canceled a girl's getaway to care for their four children last minute and to aid him back to health.

"I just wanted to hop on here and give a huge shout-out to my beautiful wife. I got really sick this week – stomach virus, I guess, is going around. It freakin' whacks me," he said in a selfie-style video. "My wife had a beach trip planned the day that I got sick, and she canceled that trip and stayed here and absolutely took care of me and our four kids like she was a superhero."

He continued, "I never met Jesus in person, but what I witnessed these last few days was the patience of Jesus exhibited through a human being, and that him being, being my wife. So, I just wanted to hop on here and just give a huge shout-out to my wife because she is an angel…you are incredible."

The two recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. The country couple has come a long way since they got together in 2011, as they grew a tight-knit family together. Before welcoming Lillie into the world, he told PEOPLE that he had learned how to be a father throughout the years.

"I just love getting to spend one-on-one time with each of them, which is something I didn't think was really important before," he explained. "I think the longer I've gone as a dad, it's like each child really does need that one-on-one time – in the same way that Lauren and I just need time with each other. There's that saying, 'the days are long and the years are short,' and I've never heard a truer statement as a dad. You get into these days, and they feel like they last a year, and then the year's over, and your child is already a year older."
