Night two of Thomas Rhett's Home Team Tour at Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater on Friday (April 21) was "24K Magic."

Rhett's live version of the Bruno Mars hit was so explosive, even a Nashville Metro Police officer directing traffic outside the venue was caught dancing and singing along. Rhett's cover capped nearly four hours of live music and scattered showers downtown with sets by Kelsea Ballerini, Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd.

Those who were there will remember the night as the biggest party in the rain.

Rhett enjoyed a predominantly rain-free set as he delivered fresh arrangements of his biggest songs so far. Arriving onstage on a runway that split the crowd, he lit up the night with "Crash and Burn," the first of many No. 1s heard throughout the show. He worked the stage and runway like James Brown on "Get Me Some Of That," "Southside," "Star of the Show" and "Tangled Up."

Like night one, Maren Morris joined him onstage to sing their new collaboration "Craving You," calling it the first taste of his next album, which he said is still unfinished.

"American Spirit" an acoustic rocker from the Tangled Up Deluxe Edition had Rhett channeling his inner Eric Church as he sang the song's reverent lyrics, honoring the beauty of small town living.

Old home movies of Rhett as a child musician played on mega screens while a tour crew set up a satellite stage in the back for an acoustic writers' round with his songwriting father, Rhett Akins.

Rhett kicked things off solo with "Beer With Jesus" and then he challenged his father to sing hits he's written within the last five years, including Jon Pardi's "Dirt On My Boots," Blake Shelton's "Boys Round Here," Florida Georgia Line's "Round Here" and Lee Brice's "Parking Lot Party."

Guided by security, Rhett made his way through the crowd and back onstage for an extended version of his funk jam "Vacation," "It Goes Like This" and his award-winning smash "Die a Happy Man." For "T-Shirt," he started out on drums, showcasing his skills on one of his first instruments.

Friday's (April 21) show wrapped the U.S. leg of the Home Team Tour. A Canadian run with Brett Young starts May 3 in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and he starts a four-city U.K. tour on Nov. 10. His 2017 festival appearances continue April 30 at the Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, California.
