Nominations Revealed for Americana Honors & Awards

Lee Ann Womack, Lucinda Williams, Shakey Graves, Sturgill Simpson Among Multiple Nominees

Lucinda Williams, Shakey Graves and Sturgill Simpson received multiple mentions to lead the field of nominees at the 2015 Americana Honors & Awards. Lee Ann Womack, who scored a No. 1 mainstream country hit in 200 with “I Hope You Dance,” received Americana nominations as artist of the year and album of the year for her retro-country project, The Way I’m Livin’.

Thursday afternoon’s (May 14) press conference announcing the nominees took place at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and included performances by the Milk Carton Kids, John Hiatt, Nikki Lane and the duo of Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn.

Jim Lauderdale will host the Sept. 16 awards ceremony at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The event takes place during AmericanaFest, set for Sept. 15-20 at venues throughout Nashville.
