WATCH: Kane Brown, Katelyn Brown Surprise Crowd With First Live Performance of "Thank God"

Kane Brown: “My baby’s first time on stage singing our song together … she killed it of course, and I’m so proud of you!!!!

Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn brought their new duet “Thank God” to the stage for the first time recently, and while the couple’s country music friends flocked to Kane’s post to praise Katelyn for her performance, no one was prouder of Katelyn than her husband.

“My baby’s first time on stage singing our song together … she killed it of course, and I’m so proud of you!!!! (Thank god)!!!!! Ottawa Canada y’all slayed,” Brown wrote on Instagram on a performance clip.

The couple flirted during their performance on stage, holding hands and smiling. Kane’s adoration for his wife was apparent in his broad smile and twinkling eyes.

Katelyn commented on the post: “Speechless. Thanks babe for making me as comfortable as possible and for everyone being so kind.”

Artists including Walker Hayes, Chris Lane, Carly Pearce, RaeLynn, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Morgane Stapleton and Danielle Bradbery also posted supportive comments.

Bradbery said: Hell yeah she did!!!!!!! 🔥🔥

RaeLynn added: MY QUEEN

And Hayes said: Dang she crushed it🔥❤️❤️

Katelyn’s onstage prowess isn’t unearned. While Kane said she hasn’t performed in years, Katelyn reportedly worked with a voice coach growing up, has a degree in Music Business Management and released pop songs under the name Katelyn Jae before they were married in 2018.

Country music fans also love the song. “Thank God” is inside the Top 15 on country radio. And Kane told Billboard that the couple performing together has long been part of their plan.

“We’ll have a nanny that can watch the kids while they are sleeping, and then Katelyn can be onstage and sing with me,” he told Billboard. “We’ll do ‘Thank God,’ and she’ll sing Lauren (Alaina)’s part on ‘What Ifs.’ Katelyn hasn’t done anything musically since she left Orlando, so we just gotta get her bearings, like learning how to use the in-ears onstage. She’s never used those before.”
