Emerging Acts Will Perform Live on the Nationwide Stage During Wednesday’s Awards Show

In addition to the superstars already announced, the 2015 CMT Music Awards lineup is being pumped up with the addition of several new acts, including A Thousand Horses, Chris Janson, Frankie Ballard, Kelsea Ballerini, Maddie & Tae and RaeLynn.

The six acts will performing on Nationwide’s stage at the event being broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (June 10) at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The show will air on CMT and streamed on

Fans can vote now via through June 7 at 11:59 p.m. ET to determine the winners. The six finalists for video of the year will be announced at the beginning of the live show and fans can then vote at throughout the live telecast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.

Hosted by Erin Andrews and Brittany Snow, the awards will feature performances by Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and the Zac Brown Band.

Previous performers on the Nationwide stage have attained notable success and acclaim, including Ashley Monroe, Brett Eldredge, Jana Kramer, Thomas Rhett and Tyler Farr. This year’s performers have already made significant achievements in their careers:

A Thousand Horses’ debut single, “Smoke,” hit No. 1 on this week’s Billboard country airplay chart. Currently featured on Darius Rucker’s Southern Style tour, the nine-piece band’s debut album, Southernality, will be released Tuesday. They’re nominated for group video of the year at the CMT Music Awards.

Janson’s single, “Buy Me a Boat,” recently hit No. 1 on the iTunes country chart. Now touring with Toby Keith, Janson’s video for the hit will be produced by CMT, marking the first time the network has financed a music video for an artist.

Ballard scored back-to-back, gold-certified No. 1 hits with “Sunshine & Whiskey” and “Helluva Life” and has sold more than 1.5 million tracks to-date. His brand new single, "Young & Crazy," has already reached the Top 15 on the country airplay chart. Ballard, who scored his first award show nomination for breakthrough video of the year, is opening shows this summer for Florida Georgia Line.

Ballerini’s debut single, "Love Me Like You Mean It," is in the Billboard Top 10 and still climbing. Promoting her debut album, The First Time, during the CMT’s recent Next Women of Country tour, she will be appearing with Lady Antebellum at select dates throughout the summer. Newly crowned one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, the emerging artist-songwriter scored her first award show nomination for breakthrough video of the year.

Maddie and Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” made them the fastest-rising female country act in eight years, earning them a No. 1 single. They are nominated for CMT Music Awards’ video of the year, duo video of the year and breakthrough video of the year.

RaeLynn scored the highest-charting debut single by a solo female artist in 2014 with the gold-certified "God Made Girls” and RaeLynn recently released her new single, “For a Boy.” She’s on tours this year with Rascal Flatts and Miranda Lambert's and is nominated for female video of the year and breakthrough video of the year.
