According to Forbes magazine, being a young entrepreneur, innovator and/or game changer is what lands you on one of their "30 Under 30" lists.
The lists are filled with young people using their fame “to make a difference, and a fortune," especially the ones on the music list.
It should be noted that Forbes does not put just anyone on the list. Making it here is no easy feat. In fact, the business magazine claims it’s harder to get onto this list than it is to get into universities like Harvard or Stanford.
The judges for this year’s honor were were musicians Jason Derulo and Halsey, plus music industry exec and founder of the QueensBridge Venture Partners Anthony Saleh.
While the music list is made up mostly of musicians, there are also a handful of behind-the-scenes industry people as well. And each profile lists the honoree's college education, if there is one, so Ballerini is listed as a dropout of Nashville's Lipscomb University (even though that hardly defines her.)
