LeAnn Rimes Forced To Cancel Upcoming Show Due To Sudden Sickness

LeAnn Rimes will return to the stage on Dec. 9 at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort in Iowa

Country music star LeAnn Rimes was scheduled to kick off her highly anticipated “Joy: The Holiday Tour” this upcoming weekend but was forced to cancel after falling ill. The festive show was slated for Friday, Dec. 2, at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY.

Late Tuesday (Nov. 29) evening, the venue broke the news and issued a statement on Facebook from the beloved songstress.

“To my Verona, NY fans, I’m sorry to announce that we’ll have to cancel the show this Friday because I’m too sick to travel and perform,” said the GRAMMY Award winner. “It breaks my heart I can’t be there as I was so excited to celebrate the holiday season with you all.”

Rimes continued to advise ticket-holders to keep their eyes and ears open, as she is working alongside the theater to find a new date.

“We will reschedule, and I look forward to that time when we can be together again,” Rimes concluded.

Turning Stone Resort Casino encouraged fans to contact their point of purchase to receive a refund. While many concert-goers expressed their disappointment, others wished the “Blue” singer a speedy recovery.

“I was looking forward to this! Bummer. I hope you feel better soon LeAnn Rimes! We saw the Christmas show a couple of years ago, it was awesome,” said a follower. “I’m so sorry. Feel better soon. We were looking forward to your show, but understandably your health matters,” added another.

According to Rimes’ official website, she will return to the spotlight on Dec. 9 at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort in Iowa. The hitmaker will hit prestigious stages in big cities and perform holiday classics from her motion picture “It’s Christmas, Eve.”

The vocalist will also pull from her impressive repertoire and deliver fan favorites from her faith-centric album, “God’s Work.” The 12-song collection intertwines her beliefs, personal experiences, and displays her platinum-selling sound. The beloved musician joined forces with country trailblazer Mickey Guyton, Ben Harper, Ziggy Marley, Sheila E., and more to bring the state-of-the-art tracklist to new heights.

“I’ve been on my own spiritual path for the last probably 10 years, just trying to figure out what it does mean to me. It shifts and changes all the time, and I learn new thing, and I’m one of those people that’s incredibly open-minded and open-hearted to the inclusivity of everyone’s beliefs,” she told The Ty Bentli Show on Apple Music Country. “And I also understand that we all have very specific lens that we view life through that’s  very unique to who we are, where all of our traumas and all of our lessons and all of our experiences really do dictate what that lens is.”

The holiday run will wrap before Christmas on Dec. 22 in sunny California. For upcoming appearances and tickets, visit leannrimes.com
