Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves Team with Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen and Orville Peck for New Show

"My Kinda Country" is a worldwide competition series for country music singers.

Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves are professionals at pushing boundaries and blazing trails. This spring, they plan to incorporate country music into the mix and do it on Apple TV+ – with a little help from country singers Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen and Orville Peck.

Witherspoon and Musgraves are executive producers on the new Apple TV+ show "My Kind of Country," an unscripted competition series. Allen, Guyton and Peck will choose the up-and-coming artists who will participate and invite them to Nashville, Tennessee, to be on the program.

"My Kind of Country" will debut on March 24.

According to a social media post from Witherspoon's media company Hello Sunshine, "My Kind of Country" takes "a documentary approach to a competition series, seeking to break down barriers in country music by giving artists who have not had the opportunity to be heard: a platform."

The post also said the best part of the series is that the winner will receive "a life-changing prize from @applemusic: unprecedented support and exposure."

Guyton explained the beauty of country music is that it can "sound like so many different things and have so many different influences."

"I have a passion for sharing and discovering new voices and couldn't be more excited to be a part of the new @AppleTVPlus series #MyKindOfCountry," she wrote on Instagram. "Joining forces with @reesewitherspoon @spaceykacey @orvillepeck and @jimmieallen for a new kind of music competition was so much fun, and I can't wait for you to see it on March 24th."

The series is divided into eight parts, and Peck says he's "so excited to be a part" of the brand-new show.

"Watch as me and my pals @mickeyguyton and @jimmieallen set out to find the world's next Country music star. Tune in to the premiere, March 24th on AppleTV+ 🤠 yeeehaw!"

Allen also shared his anticipation for the show, explaining: We went on a global search to find the next country music artist. @mickeyguyton @orvillepeck and I had the chance to meet some amazing artists from different parts of the world. We want y'all to take the journey with us. Join us March 24th of @appletvplus 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Witherspoon and Musgraves will executive produce "My Kinda Country" with Hello Sunshine's Sara Rea and Lauren Neustadter; Sandbox Entertainment's Jason Owen; showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra; and Done + Dusted's Katy Mullan. Adam Blackstone is the music director.
