I guess deep down I always knew that the Dixie Chicks were huge, but I never imagined they were seven acres and nine bedrooms huge. Yet that is the size of the wide open space (owned by Chick fiddler Martie Maguire) that's for sale right now in Austin, Texas, for the price of roughly $6.5 million. The house was built in 1975, so it looks a little, well, 1975 on the outside. But the inside is a completely different story. There is a tangerine bathroom with a claw-foot tub. Tree and giraffe murals painted on a bedroom wall. Extra thick marble countertops in the kitchen. An exercise and/or dance studio. A private recording studio. A five-stall stable with a riding arena. And, reportedly, a nine-car garage, in case the horses can't always get you where you need to go. There's no word on why Maguire is selling. Maybe she figured if the Dixie Chicks could downsize to the Court Yard Hounds, then she could downsize at home a little, too. Meanwhile, Maguire and her sister Emily Robison are in the studio working on the Court Yard Hounds' second album.
