Kelsea Ballerini Reveals A List Of Everything She Has Learned At 28 Years Old

Kelsea Ballerini: “28 [was] a bittersweet year, but surrounded by so much love and light bringing in the next.”

Kelsea Ballerini understands first-hand that everything in life is “Subject to Change.”

The platinum-selling artist previously celebrated her 29th birthday and turned to social media (Sept. 13) to reflect on what she had learned as a 28-year-old.

The long-running list was paired with a string of photos from her star-studded birthday party in Nashville.

The guest list included Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, singer-songwriter Nicolle Galyon, radio personality Katie Neal, celebrity makeup artist Tarryn Feldman, and world-renowned musician Person James. It is unclear if Ballerini’s ex-husband Morgan Evans was in attendance. The hitmaker raised a glass with close friends in a two-piece power suit and statement heels.

“Put on our birthday suits, danced, and talked about the things I learned at 28,” she wrote in the caption about the memorable affair.

The “hole in the bottle” singer continued to rattle off the eye-opening moments she encountered in her late twenties.

-       friendship is everything

-       i’m a double virgo cancer moon

-       being busy is my coping mechanism

-       dirty martinis are delicious

-       a solo drive down the PCH is soul food

-       i can keep a plant alive for 365 days

-       my voice is for more than singing

-       dibs loves apples

-       the internet keeps getting weirder

-       sometimes wearing heels isn’t worth it

-       the right and the hard thing are sometimes the same

-       i’m still a sucker for a sonic ocean water

-       Although brunette was fun, I’m a blonde

-       travel for heck of it

-       I’m not scared of the ocean, I’m scared of the unknown

-       Not many things make me happier than playing Yhatzee

-       Everything is subject to change.

Members of the country community flocked to the comments to wish the songstress a healthy and happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday!! Love you,” said country legend Shania Twain. “ Love this and love YOU!” added critically acclaimed director Ford Fairchild.

The last bullet on the list is a friendly nod to her forthcoming fifth studio album “Subject to Change,” which will drop on September 23. The highly anticipated collection will serve as the follow-up to her award-winning 2020 record, “Kelsea.”

The ‘90s-inspired tracklist will feature her breezy single “HEARTFIRST,” “What I Have,” “The Little Things,” “Love Is A Cowboy,” and a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson and Carly Pearce. It will also display how she has adapted to change throughout the years.

“In my younger years, the idea of change scared me. It had proven to be a faceless force that pattered my past with uncertainty. Only in the gift of growth have I learned that in the stark and constant juxtaposition of life, living happens,” she explained in an Instagram video. “That when I unclench my fists, undig my heels, and unravel the architecture built by youth, a true metamorphosis can happen. I’ve been searching somewhere between the broadness of the universe and the simplicity in the little things, reflecting through wiser perspectives, leaning with body weight into matters of the heart, and finding blissful acceptance in the inner cracks I once cursed that now let the light in to grow taller within myself. This is a season of becoming, healing, loving, dancing, and feeling,” she added.

The vocalist is slated to bring her empowering collection out on the road in late September for a 10-night-only headlining tour. Ballerini will kick off her run in the big apple and will wrap in Mashantucket, CT. While gearing up for the nationwide trek and album release, she celebrated her birthday weekend at New York Fashion Week. Check out her fashion-forward looks, here.
