Cash Hospitalized for Bronchitis

Johnny Cash has been undergoing treatment for bronchitis at Baptist Hospital in Nashville since Sunday (Oct. 7). The country legend is listed in stable condition, a spokeswoman for the hospital told country.com Wednesday morning (Oct. 10). Cash, 69, suffers from autonomic neuropathy, a disease that makes him susceptible to pneumonia. The singer has been hospitalized for pneumonia a number of times since 1997. "It doesn't look serious," Cash's manager, Lou Robin, told The Tennessean, "but because of his condition we don't take any chances." 10/10/01
