Educators Honor Dolly Parton With Galaxy Award

Dolly Parton will receive the Galaxy Award at this year’s National Conference on Education, Feb. 15 in San Diego. The award is presented by the American Association of School Administrators and recognizes leaders who have “pointed the way to the future.” Past recipients are Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg and Sen. John Glenn. Parton’s Dollywood Foundation has supported a number of educational projects including the Imagination Library program, which gives a book a month to children from birth to their fifth birthday. The AASA will make a donation to the Imagination Library program. 02/05/02
