Singer/slide-guitarist Lee Roy Parnell and singer/guitarist Anita Cochran were the recipients of the Orville H. Gibson, Best Country Guitarist-Male & Female awards. Both Parnell and Cochran took home the honors after attending the awards ceremony held at New York's Hard Rock Cafe during Grammy week. The country artists were in good company with Lindsey Buckingham, who was awarded Best Rock Guitarist-Male; Shawn Colvin picked up the trophy for Best Acoustic Guitarist-Female; and Bonnie Raitt was honored with Best Blues Guitarist-Female. Winners are determined by editors of leading guitar magazines and music critics nationwide.
