The Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam Tour hits the road for the third year beginning May 11 in Charlotte, N.C. The 15-date tour will wrap up in Hartford, Conn., on June 10. Featured artists include .38 Special, the Dickey Betts Band and Trent Summar and the New Row Mob. The Volunteer Jam began in 1974 as a one-day, festival-style celebration of Southern rock hosted by the Charlie Daniels Band and featuring surprise guest artists from blues, rock, R&B and country. In 1999, Daniels took the experience on the road for the first time.
