Singing Chief Snags Award Nods

Perhaps best known to the music world for his 1998 album release Alligator Tales, Chief Jim Billie has been re-elected for his fifth term as head of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, in addition to receiving nominations in five categories for the Native American Music Awards, to be held November 6th in Albuquerque, N.M. The Chief is up for Best Male Artist, Best Folk Country Artist or Group, Best Debut Artist or Group, Songwriter of the Year and Best Music Video. These all stem from Alligator Tales, produced by John McEuen.
