Lily Tomlin Visits Gospel Great in Nashville

Actress and comedienne Lily Tomlin made a surprise appearance when gospel music great Dottie Rambo appeared on the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree’s Saturday night (May 28) broadcast on WSM-AM/Nashville. Tomlin performed briefly as two of her most famous comedy characters — Ernestine and Edith Ann — before joining Rambo on two gospel songs during the show at the Troubadour Theater in Nashville. Tomlin has a role as a country and gospel singer in director Robert Altman’s upcoming film, A Prairie Home Companion. Tomlin and Altman also worked together in the 1975 film, Nashville.
