Allison Moorer will release her new album, Getting Somewhere, on Sugar Hill Records on June 13. For the first time, she wrote all 10 songs on her album, which takes a more rock 'n' roll approach than her past albums. Steve Earle, whom she married last year, produced the album. They now live in New York City where Moorer also volunteers with Women in Need, a nonprofit organization that assists homeless families and homeless and disadvantaged women. She also sings "Marie" on Sail Away: The Songs of Randy Newman, a tribute album that was released on Tuesday (May 9).
