Nanci Griffith will release an album of torch songs, Ruby's Torch, on Nov. 14 on Rounder Records. Selections include "When I Dream" (once recorded by Crystal Gayle), "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" (made popular by Frank Sinatra), Jimmy Webb's "If These Walls Could Speak" and three songs written by Tom Waits. Backed by the Blue Moon Orchestra throughout the album, she also revives two of her own songs, "Brave Companion of the Road" and "Late Night Grande Hotel." She will launch a full cabaret tour in February.
