Charlie Louvin Releases Duets CD

Charlie Louvin, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, released a self-titled album of duets on the Tompkins Square label on Tuesday (Feb. 20). His singing partners include Bobby Bare, Elvis Costello, Tom T. Hall, George Jones, Tift Merritt, Will Oldham, Jeff Tweedy and Joy Lynn White, as well as members of Clem Snide, Bright Eyes and Lambchop. Louvin lives in Manchester, Tenn., and will perform there at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in June. He is also showcasing at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music conference in Austin next month. Charlie and Ira Louvin came to prominence in the 1950s as the Louvin Brothers. One of the most influential vocal duos in country music history, they charted a No. 1 hit in 1956 with "I Don't Believe You've Met My Baby."
