Dierks Bentley Helps 'Today' Personality Distribute Instruments

Dierks Bentley and the Today show's Al Roker spent part of Thursday morning (April 19) distributing musical instruments to the W. O. Smith Nashville Community Music School during a segment of the NBC news program. With a volunteer faculty, the school provides music lessons to children from low-income families. The donation, which included guitars, banjos, mandolins and a grand piano, was part of Today's second annual Lend a Hand program. A choir of 20 students from the school accompanied Bentley when he performed his new single, "Free and Easy Down the Road I Go." Bentley said, "This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Music lessons are such a great outlet for kids to be creative, and it helps keep them on the right track. With all of the crazy things happening in the news this week, it just feels good to be part of something so positive."
