Actor John Schneider’s personal 1969 Dodge Charger, painted to resemble the General Lee muscle car from The Dukes of Hazzard, sold Friday (May 4) on eBay Motors’ Web site for $9,900,500. The vehicle was one of many used in the original TV series, and Scheider has had the car modified, including the installation of a 725-horsepower Hemi engine. The $9.9 million bid is believed to be the second-highest ever at an automobile auction. In 1987, Christie’s auction house sold a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale Sports Coupe, which had been owned by the Bugatti family, for $11 million. CMT DukesFest 2007 takes place June 2-3 at Nashville’s Music City Motorplex. Last year’s event included appearances by Schneider and other cast members and attracted an estimated 50,000 fans — and more than 100 replicas of the General Lee.
