Hank Thompson Albums Released Digitally

Eighteen of Hank Thompson's albums for Capitol Records were released digitally Tuesday (Aug. 14). Selections include the first-ever live album recorded by a country artist, 1961's Live at the Golden Nugget. One of the most popular Western swing musicians of the 1950s and 1960s, Thompson recorded for the label from 1947 to 1965 and scored his first Top 10 single in 1948 with "Humpty Dumpty Heart." In 1952, his recording of "The Wild Side of Life" spent 15 weeks at the top of Billboard's country chart. His hits include "Rub-a-Dub-Dub" and "A Six Pack to Go." He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989.
