Singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier will release a new album, The Foundling, on May 18 on the Razor & Tie label. Gauthier (pronounced Go-Shay) was inspired to write the album after finding her birth mother but was then denied a meeting with her. Written and recorded over the course of two years, the album was produced in Toronto by Michael Timmins of the Cowboy Junkies. Gauthier will perform Thursday (March 4) at the Bluebird Café in Nashville, with additional tour dates scheduled through June.
