Michelle Branch Scraps Completed Album and Starts Over

Michelle Branch does not anticipate releasing the full version of an album she completed for Warner Bros. Nashville in late 2007, according to a message she posted on her website on Wednesday (Dec. 1). Branch said she has "decided it's time to move on" and started an entirely new project. In the note, Branch wrote that her "original vision had been lost and buried" because of other people's input. "For the first time ever, I found myself in a position where I was trying to appease someone else. I'm heartbroken that you might never hear the original version of this album as I had intended. I've had my moment of grief, and I think the only way I can get through it is by moving forward," she added. As the Wreckers, Branch and Jessica Harp landed a No. 1 country hit with "Leave the Pieces" in 2006. The duo disbanded a year later. Earlier this year, Branch released Everything Comes and Goes, a six-song EP contained songs from her 2007 solo sessions. One single from the project, "Sooner or Later," peaked at No. 46 on the Billboard country chart in October 2009.
