Rascal Flatts Sued by Former Managers

Rascal Flatts are being sued by their former managers, Turner Nichols & Associates, who are asking for a 15 percent commission on the band's tour dates through June 2013 for negotiating the tour. The claim was filed Monday (April 11) in Davidson County Chancery Court. According to the lawsuit, Rascal Flatts agreed to pay their managers a tour commission each month through June 2013. The lawsuit also states the band had paid the agency on the proper timetable until the band chose another management company. At that point, the monthly payments stopped, according to the lawsuit. The band parted ways with Trey Turner and Doug Nichols of Turner Nichols & Associates in February, after more than a decade in business together. The management firm also seeks compensation for TV appearances and DVDs it negotiated. Responding in a written statement to the media, Rascal Flatts said, "We are disappointed they have chosen to file as we had hoped to address these issues privately. However, we hope that this can be resolved amicably."
