Taylor Swift’s benefit concert for tornado relief was honored at the Do Something Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday night (Aug. 18). After devastating storms in the southeastern U.S., Swift opened the final dress rehearsal for her Speak Now tour to the public. Ticket and merchandise sales from the May 21 event in Nashville helped raised $750,000 for area tornado victims. Presented to recognize young people’s commitment to social change, the awards were determined by online voting. The ceremony was hosted by Glee’s Jane Lynch and aired on VH1. Celebrities such as Tyra Banks, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, Sophia Bush, Will Ferrell, Demi Lovato and Olivia Wilde were also honored with awards.
