Kimberly Williams-Paisley Helps Fight Hunger

The Band Perry Assist Launch of Fighting Hunger Together Campaign

Kimberly Williams-Paisley and The Band Perry launched a national hunger relief campaign in Nashville on Monday morning (April 9). The Fighting Hunger Together spring initiative will provide an opportunity to fight hunger by shopping at Walmart stores or visiting the company's Facebook page through April 30.

Paisley and The Band Perry were joined by representatives of General Mills, ConAgra Foods, Kraft Foods and the Kellogg Company at a Nashville Walmart store to announce the initiative. Representatives from Feeding America, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation were also in attendance.

Statistics indicate that over the course of a year, nearly 49 million Americans won't know where their next meal is coming from. The spring season is a particularly difficult time as the season traditionally brings a decrease in food donations, leaving hunger organizations with limited resources.

The Fighting Hunger Together campaign will provide more than 42 million meals to hungry families across the United States, according to press materials.
