Jason Aldean, Jamey Johnson Lead New Releases

Scotty McCreery Offers Christmas Album

Jason Aldean, Jamey Johnson and Scotty McCreery released new albums on Tuesday (Oct. 16), spanning modern country, classic country and Christmas music, respectively.

Aldean's Night Train features the No. 1 hit, "Take a Little Ride." Guests include Luke Bryan and Eric Church on the collaboration, "The Only Way I Know." Aldean will resume his tour schedule on Oct. 25 in San Antonio, Texas. Meanwhile his Oct. 27 concert in Dallas will benefit local affiliates of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Johnson's Livin' for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran offers numerous duets in honor of the late Nashville songwriter. Johnson sings Cochran's classic compositions with Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and George Strait, among many others. Johnson will perform the new material at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Tuesday night.

McCreery's Christmas With Scotty McCreery offers a mix of standards as well as new tracks such as "Christmas in Heaven" and "Christmas Is Coming Around." In addition, A Very Special Christmas 25th Anniversary, Bringing Joy to the World offers chestnuts by Vince Gill, Martina McBride and Rascal Flatts, along with numerous pop artists.

Other new releases this week include rockabilly singer Rosie Flores' Working Girls Guitar, the iTunes EP Hunter Hayes: Live, Shelby Lynne's deluxe edition of Revelation Road (featuring a live CD and concert DVD) and jazzy Americana group Miss Tess & the Talkbacks' Sweet Talk.

New bluegrass albums include American Drive's self-titled release, the Infamous Stringdusters' Silver Sky -- Deluxe Edition, the Lonesome River Band's Chronology: Volume Three and Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers' They're Playing My Song. Rebel Records has also collected material from Front Porch String Band featuring Claire Lynch for the compilation Hills of Alabam. In addition, the label issued two new collections featuring various bluegrass artists: True Bluegrass Banjo and True Bluegrass Fiddle.
