Luke Bryan Gives Dierks Bentley Advice on Naming a Baby

Bentley's First Son, Knox, Becomes Newest Member of Country Music Family

Country music gained its newest family member when Dierks Bentley and wife Cassidy welcomed a son into the world late Wednesday night (Oct. 9). However, it remains unclear whether the couple seriously took Luke Bryan's advice in naming the infant.

Knox Bentley joins big sisters Evie and Jordan, and the proud dad took to Twitter with the big arrival announcement.

"Well ... our boy knox is here!" tweeted Bentley. "About to have the best tasting cold beer of my life! So proud of my wife. She rocked it. Crazy stuff. #beerme"

Bryan, a fellow dad and Bentley's longtime pal, knows a thing or two about naming boys since he has two sons of his own. The reigning ACM entertainer of the year had some friendly advice about how to choose the perfect one.

"I was misquoted a little bit!" Bryan told CMT Hot 20 Countdown. "The quote was, 'Name your son somebody you want to get hammered with.'

Bryan says 'hammered' wouldn't be his choice of words.

"I was like, 'Name your son somebody that ... "Hey, I was at the bar drinking with somebody named Bo Bryan."' You know, that sounds like a good ol' beer drinking buddy name."

"I heard you suggested Luke Bentley," quipped Hot 20 Countdown host Katie Cook.

"That works," Bryan said. "Anything's better than Dierks!"

Bentley will team up with Bryan at the end of this month for a Nashville stop on Bryan's Dirt Road Diaries tour. Bentley is also wrapping up his run with Miranda Lambert and their Locked & Reloaded tour in the coming weeks.
