Sara Evans Gets Some Special Help in the Studio

Daughters Display Vocal Skills on Her New Holiday Album

Sara Evans keeps it in the family with her brand new -- and first-ever -- holiday album, At Christmas.

The multiplatinum-selling singer welcomed two very special guests on her latest project -- her daughters Olivia, 12, and Audrey, 10. The cuties popped into the studio to provide backup vocals on the track, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” and Evans told me it was quite the experience having her girls behind the mic.

“They were very different when they each went in to sing their parts. Audrey got in trouble by me, like, five times!” Evans chuckled. “I’m like, ‘Stop! Settle down!’ She was dancing and being all crazy. And Olivia -- the kids are always like, ‘Audrey, you’re so annoying…’ because she’s just crazy-silly.”

But Olivia seemed to take her job as backup vocalist much more seriously that her younger sister.

“She took it more seriously than Audrey,” Evans admitted. “And Olivia is the better singer just in the sense that she is older and her voice is more developed. But, gosh, it was so fun. I was so proud of them. And I’m sure it’s not the last time they will sing with me.”

Of course, they loved the chance to spend the day singing with their mom. It doesn’t get much better than that for the girls or Evans, who called her two future superstars her “everything.”

Released this week, At Christmas also features classics like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and “Silent Night,” to name a few.

Evans will also appear alongside Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town and other famous pals during CMA Country Christmas, a two-hour holiday special airing Dec. 1 on ABC.
