Martina McBride Will Sing for 'Skyville Live' Launch

New Web Series Debuts Wednesday (Jan. 14)

When your teenage daughter is singing a country song that’s almost 50 years old, you know you’ve done your job.

So when Martina McBride tweeted on Monday (Jan. 12) that her daughter was singing an old Loretta Lynn song, it sounds like she was thrilled. Who wouldn't be?

That is why I know that Wednesday night’s (Jan. 14) live stream of the new Skyville Live online music series is going to be so special. McBride is always true to her country-lovin’ roots, no matter what stage she’s on.

And even better, this episode will feature McBride along with the legendary Gladys Knight and pop/R&B songstress Estelle. It’s the first in a series of monthly shows that are broadcast exclusively online and in front of a live studio audience in Nashville. You can also tweet questions and comments at #SkyvilleLive during the show.

"I'm excited to be a part of the very first Skyville Live. I think it's a really cool thing for the fans to be able to peek in from home and see a live show. I'm excited about singing with Estelle and Gladys,” McBride said. “I've been a Gladys Knight fan forever and am honored to even be on the same stage as her. It's going to be a great night!"

McBride’s own tour kicks off on Friday in Atlanta. And in other McBride news, she recently signed a new record deal with Nash Icon Music, also the label home to Ronnie Dunn and Reba McEntire. According to McBride’s website, she will be releasing new music later this year.
