We’ve always known Brandy Clark is anything but ordinary.

And this time she’s giving us a smart, clever and quite literal reminder that she’s nobody’s puppet on a string.

In the brand new video for her critically-acclaimed single “Girl Next Door,” Clark brings her lyrical imagery to life complete with a perfect Stepford wife marionette in a kitchen, lots of sultry looks and one fabulous fringe leather jacket.

And it’s flawless.

With Tracie Goudie and Shane Tartleton as the creative team behind the video, Clark knew she was in good hands.

“I loved working with Tracie and Shane on the video for ‘Girl Next Door,’” she said.

“This song is about someone wanting you for one thing and then wishing you were completely different. Their vision was exactly what the song needed and I’m really excited to get to share it with everyone.”

The video is spinning every hour on CMT throughout this weekend and also available across all CMT digital platforms. Clark is actually the first artist to be honored twice as a CMT Listen Up artist and is currently out on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour with Jennifer Nettles, Lindsay Ell and Tara Thompson.

“Girl Next Door,” co-written with Shane McAnally and Jessie Jo Dillon, is the first single off her sophomore album, which will be available later this summer.
