CMT Premiere: Dalton Dover Channels '90s Country With "Bury Me In This Bar"

Dalton Dover: "I grew up listening to Keith Whitley, Conway, Vince Gill, Merle, and I just wanted to write a song I thought would make my country music heroes proud."

With bar fights, brawling cowgirls, line dancing and his friends at Nashville Palace,  Dalton Dover went all out to make his "Bury Me In This Bar" music video memorable.

"I feel like the concept of this video takes the song to the next level," Dover said. "It really paints you a picture of what it'd look like to actually be buried in a bar."

Dover wrote the song with Dan Isbell, Jamie Davis and Benjy Davis. Matt McVaney produced "Bury Me In This Bar." Evan Harney directed the video, and Chastain Seagroves produced it.

The singer said people have told them the song reminds them of part two of Joe Diffie's "Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die)."

"I grew up listening to Keith Whitley, Conway, Vince Gill, Merle, and I just wanted to write a song I thought would make my country music heroes proud," Dover said. "I think I've done that."

Dover said he brought the melody into the songwrite and knew he wanted to create a song with a '90s country vibe.

Then, he got to bring the song to life in its music video.

"It was super fun," Dover said. "I got to ride a bull. Don't even ask me what that was like. It went great besides falling off the bull."

He called the filming process "a blast" and explained that sharing the moment with his friends was the "best part."

Dover said he was "so pumped" to see the video concept brought to life.

"I think the fun and lively nature of this song is represented well in this video," he said. "I hope fans see that and instantly smile and sing along!"
