Former President and First Lady Attend Gill and Grant’s Christmas Show

The former president and first lady, George and Barbara Bush, attended Vince Gill and Amy Grant’s Christmas show Sunday (Dec. 9) at the MCI Center in Washington, D. C. The Bushes also came backstage before the show and visited the touring couple in their dressing room. On hand for the visit were Gill’s daughter, Jenny, and Gill and Grant’s daughter, Corrina. Longtime fans of country music, the Bushes attended the 1991 Country Music Association awards show while the elder Bush was still in office. Gill and Grant’s “A Christmas to Remember Tour,” which features the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and opening acts Nickel Creek and Rachael Lampa, has five more of its 13 scheduled stops to go: the Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio, Tuesday (Dec. 11); Gund Arena, Cleveland, Wednesday (Dec. 12); Palace of Auburn Hills, Detroit, Friday (Dec. 14); Allstate Arena, Chicago, Saturday (Dec. 15); and the Target Center, Minneapolis, Sunday (Dec. 16). 12/10/01
