Tony Brown in Critical Condition After Accident

Tony Brown, senior partner of Universal South Records and the producer of such top country acts as George Strait, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and Vince Gill, was listed in critical but stable condition Monday (April 14) at the UCLA Medical Center’s Neurological Department in Los Angeles. Brown fell down a staircase and injured his head while in Los Angeles for a meeting of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the organization that confers the Grammy awards. While Brown’s label has not released details of the accident, a source says he was leaving a restaurant with NARAS board chairman Garth Fundis when the fall occurred. 04/14/03
