Allison Moorer kicks off her first acoustic tour on Wednesday (Oct. 1) at Schuba’s in Chicago. The 20-city tour includes stops in Cleveland, St. Louis, Atlanta and Philadelphia before closing in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Oct. 26. Moorer’s fifth album, and first for Sugar Hill Records, is expected in early 2004. Moorer was nominated for a 1998 Academy Award for the song “A Soft Place to Fall” and appears on the album version and commercial single of the Kid Rock duet “Picture.” 09/30/03
