Taylor Swift Chooses Pop Band as Tour’s Opening Act

Taylor Swift has chosen the pop band Needtobreathe as the featured artist on her Speak Now tour dates in the U.S. and Canada. The North American portion of the tour will begin May 27 in Omaha, Neb. The band has found success in the mainstream pop and Christian contemporary formats, and their music has been noted for its Southern rock influence. Their singles include “Something Beautiful” and “More Time” and their music has been featured in the film P.S. I Love You and MTV’s The Hills. A new album is expected on Atlantic Records in 2011. Needtobreathe’s Bo Rinehart said, “It means a lot to us that Taylor handpicked us for her Speak Now tour. Everyone knows she has amazing fans, and we thrive on performing live, especially in front of new audiences.”
