OFFSTAGE: Taylor Swift/Justin Bieber Song Not Right, Right Now

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

I've been waiting impatiently for this Taylor Swift-Justin Bieber tune ever since I heard they were working on it. But it looks like we will all have to wait impatiently a little bit longer. Bieber's manager Scooter Braun told MTV News, "It didn't go on [Bieber's latest album] Believe because there's another record they want to work on. So, it just didn't make sense at this time, and the song they did just didn't make sense on this album." Another collaboration that ended up not making the final cut on Bieber's album? The one with Kanye West. Braun said that one "didn't make sense at this time" either. Back in April, when Bieber and Swift were in the recording studio, Bieber said, "It's crazy. I mean, I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently." And he added that the album would have music that didn't stay in a box. "It's so out there. Everything is so different, and that's why I'm so happy with this album," Bieber said. Just not out there enough to bring Swift in, I guess.
