CMT Edge, a new website dedicated to music discovery, launched Monday (Sept. 10) with exclusive live performances by Trampled by Turtles and the premiere of the song "It's Never Alright" from Dwight Yoakam's upcoming album.

During its first week, the site will also feature exclusive world premieres of music videos from the Avett Brothers ("Live and Die") and Sara Watkins ("When It Pleases You").

Meanwhile, CMT Edge will tape more than a dozen artists in Nashville this week as part of the Americana Music Festival and Conference, including Brandi Carlile, Justin Townes Earle, Jason Isbell, Punch Brothers and Turnpike Troubadours. The performances will post later this year.

Trampled by Turtles' video performance was filmed on the sidewalks of Nashville for a new episode of Concrete Country. Meanwhile, Yoakam's "It's Never Alright" was co-written with Ashley Monroe of the Pistol Annies and comes from Yoakam's 3 Pears, set for release on Sept. 18.

Watkins' new video, "If It Pleases You," will debut on Tuesday. In conjunction with CMT Edge, CMT will world premiere the Avett Brothers' new video, "Live and Die," on Friday. The video will air every hour on CMT, in addition to being available on CMT.com.

CMT.com has a long history of uncovering new music, starting with its first online performance series, New Voices, No Cover, in 2003, featuring such artists as the Avett Brothers, Hayes Carll and Kathleen Edwards. That same caliber of artists will now share a permanent home on CMT Edge.
