OFFSTAGE: Country Artists Welcome Babies of 2012

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

This could be its own little Nashville playgroup: Pearl, Magnus, Dylan, another Dylan, West, Jonah, Kline, Violet and Marshall. They could all be the best of friends because they are the babies born to country singers this year.

Jake Owen welcomed Olive Pearl on Thanksgiving. "Today is the greatest day of my life," Owen said. After she was born, Owen told me what he sings to her, and that she's a huge Marty Robbins fan.

Jennifer Nettles gave birth to Magnus Hamilton Miller on December 6.

Jay DeMarcus got to see his son Dylan Jay being born and still made it back to the stage in the nick of time for a Rascal Flatts show on July 20.

Joe Nichols brought baby Dylan River into the world in April.

Randy Houser welcomed a son -- Wentz Yantz -- in March.

It was a second son for Jo Dee Messina when Jonah Christopher was born in January.

Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band thanked heaven for little girls when his daughter Kline Olivia Diaz was born in July.

The Dixie Chicks' Emily Robison had her fourth child, a daughter named Violet Isabel Strayer, in September.

Sarah Buxton and her husband Tom Bukovac brought Marshall into the world in December. "Tom and I are in love with our sweet baby boy, Marshall! He came December 4th. My little Sagittarius," she tweeted.

Plus, these three country singers became grandfathers this year: Ronnie Dunn (Huxton Wayne), George Strait (George Harvey III) and Trace Adkins (Jackson Trace Webber).
