Civil Wars Schedule Release of Second Studio Album

The Civil Wars -- the duo Joy Williams and John Paul White -- will release their second studio album in late summer, although their status as a touring act still remains unclear. Their new self-titled project will be released by Sensibility Music/Columbia Records. It's the follow-up to their debut album, Barton Hollow, which won three Grammys. In the middle of a European tour in November, Williams and White canceled their remaining tour dates, citing "internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition." In handwritten notes posted on their website this week, White said, "Patience is a virtue. Yours has been appreciated. Here's to the hope you consider it rewarded." Williams noted, "I am fiercely proud of this album. A lot of soul, sweat and tears went into its creation. I hope you feel the heart in each song ... that it might connect with yours. We are, each one of us, journeying, learning and growing along this ever-evolving path."
