OFFSTAGE: Jennifer Nettles' Post-Baby Body Tips

Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles has written a long and detailed description of how she got her body back after her baby boy Magnus Hamilton was born last December. But it's the last sentence that I think is the best advice of all: "And mostly, be kind to yourself." She's so right. After you have a baby, you are doing so much for that significant little other in your life that it's easy to forget to be good to yourself. So some me time is crucial for new moms. Nettles' other tips include getting enough exercise (like walking and/or hiring a personal trainer), watching what you eat (fewer carbs and processed foods) and breastfeeding. But even though she has been through the before, during and after of a pregnancy, Nettles admits she is no expert. "I'm just fumbling along, trying not to panic at the thoughts of upcoming photo shoots and videos as I prepare to release new music. I simply wanted to share what works for me. Every body and every situation is different," she writes. "However, if it helps to read my experience, well great! If it doesn't, do your own thing."
