Darius Rucker has what I'm calling "George Strait syndrome" because he's selling out concert dates at lightning speed well before his tour even begins. For any artist, of course, this is not a problem at all.

And while it may not seem like that stunning a feat for a wildly-popular artist to sell out shows, it actually is a big accomplishment. Let's face it. Times are tough today.

In the general landscape, album sales and ticket sales aren't what they used to be. In the past several years, sell-out tours and No. 1 albums have been reserved for a select few both inside and outside the country music community.

Rucker is among a select few -- one of those artists people can't get enough of.

His latest studio album True Believers debuted at the top of the country chart and boasts the Grammy-nominated No. 1 single "Wagon Wheel." He's likely to make an even bigger impact with his 2014 True Believers tour.

Several dates are already sold out. The general manager of the Enid Event Center and Convention Hall noted tickets for the March 7 date in Enid, Okla., sold at an "unprecedented level."

This is a great moment for Rucker to bask in the glow of his hard-earned success. And he'll get to share it with the Eli Young Band and David Nail, his friends who will join him when the tour officially kicks off Jan. 29 in Champaign, Ill.

He's also gearing up to release "Miss You," a new single that arrives at country radio on Feb. 3. Be on the lookout for that, too.
