Jason Aldean Burns It Up With "Burnin' It Down"

Latest Single Makes Big Impression on Country Radio and Mainstream America

His tour and new single may be called "Burnin' It Down," but Jason Aldean is clearly burnin' it up. Whew! The new stats are on out on Aldean's tour and single, and they are incredible. It's not really surprising at all, but the figures are still incredible.

Selling more than 183,000 copies in its first week of release, the track sits atop Nielsen SoundScan's digital country songs chart and the overall digital chart that includes all musical styles.

Yep, you read that correctly. In topping the all-genre chart, he bumped out "Rude," a track by the Canadian band Magic!

So has Aldean officially crossed over? Or, in the words of Alan Jackson's hit, has the whole world gone country?

Either way, it's another win-win situation for the country music world. Country fans get their Aldean fix while the industry gets another boot in the door of the rock, pop and hip-hop fan base. And too much of a good thing -- well, in this case, especially -- is a good thing. (I had to make another reference to one of Jackson's other songs.)

Another good thing for Aldean is the song's trajectory at country radio. With 135 country radio stations across the nation already onboard, you can take it from this ol' radio gal that it's record-breaking territory. The song is now the most-added song at country radio of Aldean's entire career.

Aldean's Burn It Down tour continues Friday in Philadelphia with a stadium show at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. He'll also play Saturday in Hartford, Connecticut, before heading to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, for an Aug. 7 appearance at WE Fest.
