ACM Awards Nominations Announced

Eric Church, Chris Stapleton Lead This Year's Pack

With five nominations each, Eric Church and Chris Stapleton are the top contenders at the 51st annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

The nominations were revealed Monday morning (Feb. 1).

Church is nominated in five categories, including his first for entertainer of the year. He’s also up for male vocalist, album of the year (Mr. Misunderstood), video of the year (“Mr.Misunderstood, and vocal event of the year for “Raise ‘Em Up” with Keith Urban.

Stapleton is nominated male vocalist and new male vocalist and is also up for vocal event of the year for Hangover Tonight,” a collaboration with Gary Allan, Stapleton received two additional nominations as artist and producer in the album of the year category for Traveller.

The ACM Awards show takes place April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Nominees for song of the year and songwriter of the year will be announced at a later date.
